Hyderabad: Congress MLC Balmoor Venkat on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime police against Telugu actor Srikanth Krishnaswamy Iyengar for allegedly making derogatory comments against Mahatma Gandhi.
Earlier, in a video clip posted on his ‘X’ account, Iyengar questioned Gandhi’s title as the “Father of the Nation” and went on to praise Nathuram Godse, which Venkat described as highly disrespectful.
Venkat urged the Cybercrime police to register a criminal case against the actor and called upon the Telugu film industry to take a clear stand on the issue.
He also demanded that Iyengar be suspended from Telugu film associations if he fails to apologise for his remarks.
