Hyderabad: A class X student escaped unhurt when a concrete piece reportedly fell from an under-construction multi-storey building on a car damaging the sunroof near Chirec School at Sudarshan Nagar Colony in Kondapur on Wednesday.
According to a complaint filed at Gachibowli Police Station, the incident occurred around 8 am, when P Ganesh, a driver from Tellapur, was taking his employer’s son to Chirec School in a car.
While the vehicle was proceeding near the school, a concrete piece fell from a building under construction adjacent to the school and landed directly on the car’s sunroof. The impact reportedly caused complete damage to the sunroof.
Ganesh alleged that the incident was the result of negligence and inadequate safety precautions at the construction site. He also expressed concern that such lapses could pose a serious risk to people passing near the construction site and could lead to more serious accidents.
Based on a written complaint, Gachibowli police registered a case against the builder and management of Candeur Landscape Construction firm.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and the alleged safety lapses at the construction site.
