Karimnagar: Condolences poured in from various quarters over the sudden demise of LokSatta, a Udyama Samstha, district president N Srinivas.
Srinivas, who was infected by the coronavirus, died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital on Monday morning.
After coming to know about the death of Srinivas, Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar visited the hospital and paid tributes to the departed soul by placing a wreath and consoled the family members.
Collector K Shashanka also visited the hospital and paid respects. Expressing grief over the death of Srinivas, Health Minister Eatala Rajender opined that it was a great loss to the people of Karimnagar district as well as the Telangana State.
Karimnagar MP and BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that the district had lost a crusader against corruption. Srinivas was energetic when he met him in the hospital on February 6. He expected that Srinivas would come back with complete health. Unfortunately, he had left the near and dears in an untimely manner, Sanjay Kumar said.
In a statement, Lok Satta State president Jayaprakash Nayarayan stated that “I lost a very dear colleague. His passing is a great loss to the consumer movement, Lok Satta and civil society in Karimnagar and Telangana”.
He stated that Srinivas was a highly public-spirited citizen and always energetic and optimistic. Former MLC T Santosh Kumar also visited the hospital and paid last respects to the mortal remains of Srinivas. Karimnagar Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy expressed his grief.
Association of Physicians of India (API) Karimnagar chapter leader Dr D Raghuraman said that the Karimnagar district had lost a great humane personality, who always strived for the welfare of the common man and fought against corruption.
Leading industrialists and businessmen from Karimnagar town Bhagwandas Karwa and Venugopal Karwa said that they lost a philanthropist and social worker of the district.
Recollecting the services of Srinivas for mankind, they said that he would react to the public issues pertaining to the entire Telangana state and fight for justice by approaching the consumer forums and the courts.
The Lok Satta udyama samstha and Karimnagar Consumer council activists Prakash Holla, R Chandra Prabhakar, KS Narayana, M Gangadhar, T Ganga Rao, Syed Muzaffar, Musku Mahender and others recollect their association
with Srinivas.
They said that Srinivas had completed his LLB and LLM education after his retirement as the UBI branch manager only for the cause of society and update his knowledge about the law and file consumer-related and other public issues cases in the courts.
