Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay accused the Congress of diverting the attention of the people from the implementation of Six Guarantees by bringing issues to the fore of public discussions.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, Sanjay said that for the last one year, the Congress has been trying to delay the implementation of the Six Guarantees by bringing up issues such as Kaleshwaram, Electricity Commission, farmhouse case, Formula-E case, phone tapping case and drug cases.
The Congress government was trying to implement the Rythu Bharosa scheme keeping in mind the upcoming local bodies polls, he alleged.
The Congress was trying to hold the local bodies polls because if it was not held by March, Rs 2000 crore sanctioned by the 15th Finance Commission to the State would stop, he said, adding that all the drama of implementing the Rythu Bharosa scheme was to get the FC funds.
Strongly criticising the Congress government’s decision to provide Rs 12,000 per acre, instead of Rs 15,000 under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, he alleged that the Congress had once again deceived the farmers by not keeping its promises.
“Congress came to power with the support of 70 lakh farmers, who were promised Rs 15,000 per acre. Now the Congress says it could give only Rs 12,000. This is nothing but cheating. Do not believe Congress. To win local polls it was making false promises,” he alleged.
