Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao on Saturday said the Congress and BJP parties, which had earlier questioned former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s special focus on the development of Gajwel, were now coming to the town seeking votes in the municipal elections.
Addressing an election campaign rally in Gajwel municipality, Harish Rao called upon voters to question Congress leaders for ignoring Gajwel’s development after coming to power. He said that while Chandrashekhar Rao led the government with a clear focus on development, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was running the Congress government with what he described as a single agenda of destruction.
Recalling the development initiatives undertaken by the BRS government in Gajwel, he said Chandrashekhar Rao had transformed the face of the town by providing all basic facilities and had placed it several decades ahead of other towns in the State.
The former minister urged people to vote for the BRS in the municipal elections to ensure the continuation of development works.
Addressing another election meeting in Toopran municipality, Harish Rao said the municipal administration had increased house tax from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000 per month. He also pointed out that there were not enough doctors in Toopran, despite it being upgraded into a community health centre.
Highlighting differences between Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and Tumkunta Narsa Reddy, he said infighting within the Congress had cost the Gajwel constituency dearly, as leaders failed to focus on development.
The former minister observed that voting for the BJP would amount to wasting one’s vote, as the saffron party had done nothing for the State despite having eight MLAs. He said Chandrashekhar Rao had developed Toopran into a model town.
Harish Rao addressed multiple election campaign meetings across the erstwhile Medak district on Saturday.
