Congress, BJP workers joins BRS in Kothagudem
Ahead of the Kothagudem Municipal Corporation elections, several BJP and Congress workers and leaders joined the BRS at different programmes in Kothagudem, Khammam and Hyderabad. Senior party leaders welcomed the new entrants

Kothagudem: A large number of workers from the BJP and Congress have joined the BRS in the wake of the Kothagudem Municipal Corporation elections.
At a programme at the BRS district office here on Thursday, as many as 300 BJP workers, led by the party’s former town president A Shivakrishna, joined the BRS. BRS district president Rega Kantha Rao and MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra welcomed them into the party.
Shivakrishna’s parents Lakshmaiah and Lakshmibai, their followers Narasimha, Kali, Mohan, Narsamma, Farzana, Vamsi, Narayana and others were among those who joined the party.
In another programme, as many as 50 youths from New Gollagudem joined the BRS in the presence of former minister Vanama Venkateshwara Rao, MP Ravichandra and Kantha Rao.
On the other hand, the Congress suffered a shock as former councillor Bhima Sridhar and his wife Srivalli joined the BRS in the presence of BRS working president KT Rama Rao, MP Ravichandra, ministers Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Errabelli Dayakar Rao in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
In Khammam, Congress party leader Bollam Nagaiah, who had served the party for decades, joined the BRS on Thursday along with his followers. At a programme at Gurralapadu village in Edulapuram Municipality, Nagaiah, along with Congress party members from all social groups, joined the BRS in the presence of MLC Tata Madhusudhan and former Palair MLA Kandala Upender Reddy.
