Hyderabad: Hours after campaigning for the Jubilee Hills by-election concluded on Sunday evening, videos and images surfaced on social media alleging that the Congress continued electioneering. There were also complaints that money and sarees were distributed in different localities of the constituency.

A video purportedly shows Congress MP from Nagarkurnool, Mallu Ravi, moving with a few other party leaders at SPR Hills under Rahmathnagar division at around 9.30 pm, despite Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar announcing that Section 144 was in force in the constituency from 5 pm.

In another video, a giant screen mounted on a vehicle at Yousufguda is seen playing Congress campaign visuals, while a separate video shows some individuals offering sarees to women in Borabanda.

According to reports, police raided a hotel in the Erragadda division on a tip-off that money was being distributed, and around 11 people were reportedly taken into custody. There was no official confirmation until late in the night.

Sharing a video on X, BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne said, “Congress threatened and took a senior Muslim leader from Erragadda, Shareef Bhai just two days before Jubilee Hills by-election campaign ended. With massive torture from Congress, Shareef Bhai’s health deteriorated.”
