With the latest additions, the total number of cases registered against Krishank has climbed to 21 within just 16 months of the Congress assuming power in Telangana. A majority of these FIRs are linked to his posts on X (formerly Twitter), which Krishank maintains are expressions of dissent, not criminal offenses.

Krishank, a UGC NET-qualified academic, holds a postgraduate degree with distinction and pursued his PhD after a brief teaching stint at a postgraduate college for mass communication students. He has also contributed as a research fellow under a UGC-funded major research project.

He informed the court of his decision to contest the case, emphasizing that his fight was centered around protecting public health and stopping the sale of spurious liquor in Telangana. "The health of Telangana’s people is our top priority, and BRS will not back down. We have revealed the truth, and our commitment to transparency and accountability remains unwavering," he stated in a media interaction.

"The Chief Minister claims to be a sportsperson and has expressed his love for football many times. Is this how he wants to treat existing playgrounds and leave sportspersons in lurch?" asked BRS spokesperson Krishank.
