HYDERABAD: Old habits die hard. The Congress government proved on Tuesday that it was still claiming credit for the good work done by the previous BRS government.

The State government’s announcement from Davos that the Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace signed an agreement to establish an integrated private rocket manufacturing, integration, and testing facility in Telangana, actually made many wonder. “Haven’t we heard this name before?”

And that was because this announcement was made by former IT Minister KT Rama Rao way back in November 2022. Skyroot was incubated at T-Hub and supported by T-Works.

At a programme organised at T-Hub to celebrate Skyroot Aerospace’s successful launch of Vikram-S rocket, India’s first private rocket into space, Rama Rao had announced that Telangana would be home to the country’s first integrated rocket design, manufacturing, and testing facility.

Sharing the video of the former Minister addressing the gathering at T-Hub, former Telangana Digital Media director Konatham Dileep on X said: “So Revanth Reddy went all the way to Davos to announce this investment, which was announced almost two years back by KTR..”

This was not an isolated case of the Congress government claiming credit for the works done by the previous government. KT Rama Rao has been coming down heavily on the Congress government for its attempts to mislead the people.

He had pointed out how the Congress government was claiming credit for the 30,000 job notifications issued and examinations conducted by the previous government. He also said that the Congress government had only presented the appointment letters to the candidates.

Similarly, Cognizant signed an agreement with the Telangana government to set up a unit at Kokapet in 2022 with assured employment to 15,000 persons. On the contrary, Revanth Reddy claimed that the agreement was signed with the company in the United States and inaugurated the facility in the city.

Likewise, the BRS has also been slamming the Congress government for claiming the credit for constructing the Sitarama project in Khammam. The project was constructed during the KCR government but the Congress government was misleading the people by adding the project into its account.
