HYDERABAD: BJP Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender slammed the Congress government stating it was the most inefficient and corrupt and charged that the Finance Department was not clearing even petty bills unless the agencies and contractors paid 7 to 10 percent commission.

“I have not come across a more inept government than the current Congress government in the State,” Etala Rajender said at a press conference here on Sunday.

Even the leaders, who were confined to their homes, were calling the shots in the administration. Most leaders were looting as if this was the last opportunity for the Congress to be in power, he slammed.

Coming down heavily on the HYDRAA demolitions, the BJP MP said since the Congress government came to power, poor people’s houses have been demolished for three months.

This was followed by the demolition of houses on the Musi River banks and now the government had targeted slums like Balajinagar, Jawaharnagar, and others, he said.

The Congress government should immediately stop the demolition of poor people’s houses, failing which the BJP would wage a war, he warned, adding that even officials were demanding bribes to the tune of Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh.
