Hyderabad: Close on the heels of the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s review of priority projects in the Krishna and Godavari river basins, the Telangana Irrigation Department on Friday decided to expedite administrative clearances, tender processes, and land acquisition formalities to accelerate the pace of works on the Sitarama project.

During a marathon session held at Jala Soudha on Thursday, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of all ongoing projects. Discussions included the prioritization of projects and funding through the green channel.

As a follow-up, Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswar Rao, and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy held detailed deliberations with irrigation officials on the Sitarama project.

Key officials, including Irrigation Advisor Adityanath Das, Irrigation Secretary Rahul Bojja, and Special Secretary Prasant Jivan Patil, also participated in the discussions.

The Ministers emphasized the need to complete the project within the stipulated time frame, as desired by the Chief Minister, who inaugurated the project’s pump house on August 15.

The Sitarama project was taken up during the BRS regime as a major initiative, aimed to enhance agricultural productivity by providing reliable water supply to the region.
