On Saturday morning, he visited the SLBC tunnel and held a review meeting with senior officials from various rescue teams. Special Chief Secretary (Disaster Management) Arvind Kumar and Army Commandant Parikshit Mehra updated the Minister on the progress made in locating the trapped workers.
In response to a question from BRS member Naveen Kumar Reddy in the Legislative Council on Wednesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that the 18-package work of the PRLIS up to the Udandapur reservoir was ongoing. He added that Unit-I of Stage-I pumping station had been commissioned in September of the previous year, and that Stage-II, III, and IV pumping stations were nearly finished and ready for commissioning.
The Ministers emphasized the need to complete the project within the stipulated time frame, as desired by the Chief Minister, who inaugurated the project's pump house on August 15
The Minister said that comprehensive measures were being taken to complete the remaining lifts and projects including Nettempadu, Kalwakurti, and Bhima in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district
Impoundind water at Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages for pumping operations will pose threat to the temple town of Bhadrachalam and 44 villages along the side of the river, said Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
