Narayanpet: Congress leader injured after flagpole collapses at Makthal Tahsildar office
A portion of a flagpole collapsed during Republic Day celebrations at the Tahsildar Office in Makthal, injuring Congress leader K Nagender. Animal Husbandry Minister V Srihari escaped unhurt. Nagender is undergoing treatment at the Government General Hospital, Makthal.
Narayanpet: A Congress leader, K Nagender, sustained injuries, while Animal Husbandry Minister V Srihari escaped unhurt after a portion of a flagpole collapsed during Republic Day celebrations at the Tahsildar Office in Makthal on Monday.
The incident occurred when the Minister, officials and local residents had gathered at the Tahsildar Office for the celebrations. As Tahsildar Satish Kumar unfurled the national flag, a part of the flagpole reportedly gave way and fell on those gathered there.
As a result, Congress leader K Nagender suffered injuries to his leg. He was immediately shifted to the Government General Hospital in Makthal and is undergoing treatment, according to reports.
Officials said the Minister was not injured in the incident.
