Mancherial: Mancherial MLA Diwakar Rao lambasted former MLC K Prem Sagar Rao for making baseless allegations against him and described the Congress leader as a cheater and liar.
Addressing the media here on Monday, Diwakar said he was neither involved in encroaching land nor cheated anyone. “Prem Sagar Rao is making false allegations. I will transfer my assets to his name if he proves it. I have not occupied a piece of land. In fact, he is a cheat and liar who cheated many persons including Congress leaders and gullible farmers,” he said.
The legislator alleged that a leader Hanumanth Rao belonging to Hajipur mandal died of a heart attack caused by the harassment and cheating by Sagar Rao. He still needs to repay debts of Rs 70 lakh to farmers who sold their lands in Naikpet village in Bheemini mandal.
He recently insulted Dalit MLA Gunda Mallesh by making objectionable comments, Diwakar Rao said.
The MLA further accused Sagara Rao of harassing the then Mancherial MRO Dattadri by forcing him to do favours for him. He did not pay money to local merchants when he bought cement. He is not eligible to work with any party. He will never become a public representative. He registered defeats because of his wrongdoings committed in the past. Whereas, I am a spotless person.
Mancherial Municipal chairperson P Rajaiah, vice-chairperson G Mukesh Goud, Nadipelli Charitable Trust Chairman N Vijith, Mancherial Agriculture Market Committee Chairman Palle Bhumesh and many others were present.
