Adilabad: Congress legislators are openly expressing their dissent against the party during awareness meetings on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju complained that the party was giving importance to BJP MLAs Maheshwar Reddy and Payal Shankar. He alleged that ministers were informing BJP legislators about their tours but ignoring Congress public representatives. He made the remarks during the awareness programme held in Adilabad. The meeting was attended by Tourism Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao.

He pointed out that BJP MLAs were dealing with the affairs of the party, while the DCC presidents of both Nirmal and Adilabad districts remained mute spectators. He said that Indiramma houses were being allotted to beneficiaries without the knowledge of local legislators. He requested the party to focus on MLAs who were being neglected.

Nirmal Assembly constituency Congress in-charge K Srihar Rao expressed his inability to stop the transfer of officers even though the Congress party was at the helm of affairs, at another awareness programme. He regretted that they were unable to digest the insults. He threatened to resign from the post if similar humiliations continued.

Similarly, Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar of the BJP heaped praise on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy while the latter was touring Adilabad district recently. Revanth Reddy disclosed that he was trying to address major challenges of the district due to the efforts of Shankar, drawing the ire of Congress legislators. The MLAs feel that they are being neglected by both the party and the government.

Meanwhile, both Labour Minister Dr G Vivek and Krishna Rao did not turn up for Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s tour of the Mancherial Assembly constituency a few days ago, exposing internal bickering among Congress legislators. Mancherial MLA K Premsagar Rao is reportedly unhappy with the government for denying him a berth in the Cabinet and accommodating Vivek instead.
