Congress MPs, MLCs likely to visit KCR’s Erravalli residence on Friday

A group of Congress MPs and MLCs is likely to visit BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao’s residence at Erravalli on Friday. The proposed visit comes amid a land row, with officials conducting a survey and local farmers questioning the exercise.

Hyderabad: Amid verbal duels over lands and properties owned by ruling and opposition leaders, a group of Congress MPs and MLCs are likely to visit BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao’s residence at Erravalli in Siddipet on Friday.

It is learnt that the MPs and MLCs would board a bus specially arranged for them at the CLP Office on the Assembly premises. They are expected to check land records at the local revenue office and the Collector’s Office in Siddipet before heading to the BRS chief’s residence.

“There is a buzz in Gandhi Bhavan that Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi will lead the group. But, so far, there is no official confirmation about the visit,” a senior Congress leader said.

The proposed visit by Congress elected representatives to Erravalli assumes significance as the Assembly session is continuing on Friday. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had already directed officials to conduct a detailed probe into land parcels around the BRS president’s farmhouse in Erravalli.

A team of officials had already visited Erravalli on Thursday and conducted a survey. However, local farmers are learnt to have questioned the officials over the survey of their lands and stressed that they had been cultivating the fields for decades.

It may be recalled that a few Congress leaders march towards the BRS president’s farmhouse last week had triggered a political controversy. The police was accused of obstructing the BRS cadre from reaching Erravalli but extended escort to the Congress leaders. The entire episode had created law and order situation in region and parts of Hyderabad with BRS staging protests over police officials overzealous attitude.
