Congress plotting Muslim quota in the name of BC declaration, alleges Bandi

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused the Congress-led Telangana government of disguising a Muslim quota as part of the Kamareddy BC Declaration. He said the support for increased BC reservation would only be given if Muslims were excluded from the BC list.

Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, on Sunday alleged that the Congress government had introduced a Muslim quota in the guise of the Kamareddy BC declaration.

“While the State already provides 27 per cent reservation to Backward Classes, the Congress government is trying to give Muslims a 10 per cent quota under the pretext of extending an additional five per cent reservation to BCs. If implemented, Muslims will end up with 100 per cent reservation,” he said.

Interacting with media persons, after inaugurating a critical care unit at the district headquarters hospital, Bandi Sanjay, questioned how such a move could be termed a BC declaration. “It is clearly a Muslim declaration,” he asserted.

Accusing the State government of attempting to turn Hindus into a minority in Telangana, he termed the so-called Muslim declaration a “poisonous tree” that would spread across the country if not stopped.

He also said there would be no acceptance of the BC reservation bill unless Muslims were removed from the BC list. “We will extend complete support if the government grants 42 per cent reservation to BCs, but only after excluding Muslims,” he said.
