Warangal: Terming the Congress rule as a disaster, BRS MLC K Kavitha castigated the State government for failing to fulfil even 16 promises in its 16 months of rule. She said people had started seeing through the Congress deceit and suggested that the government focus on delivering on its promises at least now.

Addressing a press conference after inspecting preparations for the upcoming BRS silver jubilee anniversary meeting in Elkathurthy near Warangal on Thursday, Kavitha said the BRS continued to work for the welfare of Telangana, while the Congress and BJP were solely focused on securing votes by dividing people. She dismissed criticism of the BRS silver jubilee celebrations, stating that the event was a symbol of Telangana’s hard-won progress and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao‘s visionary leadership.

Defending the party’s transformation from TRS to BRS, the BRS MLC called it a natural evolution aligned with people’s aspirations. She pointed out that evolution was nothing but natural as BRS was required to serve the nation. She warned the Congress leaders against making willful remarks against Chandrashekhar Rao.

“It is not chance but our leader Chandrashekhar Rao’s intellect, courage and sacrifice that brought Telangana into existence. He led the movement without bloodshed and overcame political conspiracies to fulfil the dream of scores of Telangana people,” she said.

Kavitha called upon youth, women, and farmers to attend the silver jubilee gathering in large numbers, likening it to a Kumbh Mela of Telangana pride. She charged the Congress with betraying youth and women by not delivering on promises like jobs, financial aid, gold and scooters.

“Chandrashekhar Rao empowered women through reservations and education. We appeal to all women who feel betrayed by the Congress to join us,” she urged, requesting farmers who were deprived of a dignified life under the Congress regime to attend the massive public meeting. Accompanied by senior leaders, she reviewed arrangements at the venue in Elkathurthy, especially for women attendees.

Earlier in the day, Kavitha visited the Sri Bhadrakali Ammavari temple in Warangal and performed special pujas, seeking blessings for the success of the silver jubilee meeting.
