Suryapet: Nalgonda MP and Congress leaders N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday exuded confidence that the party will win the Huzurnagar Assembly constituency with a 50,000 votes margin in the next elections.
Speaking at a meeting of Congress workers at Nereducherla in Suryapet district, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Huzurnagar was a Congress fortress, and the Assembly constituency had witnessed no development under the TRS regime, he alleged.
He claimed that the government degree college was set up at Huzurnagar due to his efforts as MLA of the Assembly constituency. “More than 12 lift irrigation schemes were constructed in the Assembly constituency during his tenure which was providing irrigation facility to thousands of acres of land,” he said.
Urging the State government to fill vacant posts in all departments including teacher posts, the Congress leader came down heavily on the Narendra Modi government at the centre, stating that the steep hike in prices of petrol and diesel had imposed financial burden on the common people during the last seven years. Fuel prices have direct and indirect impact on the common people in the country, he said, adding that people were now looking for Congress rule in the country as well as in Telangana.
