Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Monday imposed a penalty of Rs.1 lakh on a construction company for littering the road with sand and other construction material.

The penalty was imposed on Aurobindo Constructions who are building a structure in Khanamet. GHMC officials said the penalty was not related to actor Sai Dharam Tej’s bike accident.

“Construction material can turn out to be dangerous to commuters, especially motorists. Penalising the company is not related to the bike accident in which an actor was hurt,” N Sudhamsh, GHMC Deputy Commissioner (Chandanagar) said.
