Hyderabad: A life convict hurled a slipper at the ninth Additional District Judge in the Ranga Reddy court complex at LB Nagar on Thursday.

The man was three days ago convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in an attempt to murder case registered at Jagathgirigutta police station. He was later sent to Central Prison Cherlapally.

On Thursday, the man was again brought to the LB Nagar court and was to be produced before the same judge in connection with a murder case registered at Narsingi police station.

“The man asked the escort constables that he wanted to speak to the judge and asked them to remove handcuffs. The man went inside the court hall and abused the lady judge and then hurled a slipper which fell a little away,” said LB Nagar Inspector, K Vinod Kumar.

Soon the police and the advocates overpowered the man and dragged him out of the court hall. He was given a sound thrashing and later handed over to the local police. Based on a complaint, the police are registering a case against him.

The advocates boycotted the court work in protest against the attack demanding stringent action against the convict.
