Cooch Behar Trophy: Hyderabad in commanding position on Day 2

Hyderabad: Riding on half-centuries from Sarthak Bharadwaj (90), B Rishikesh (71) and Dheeraj Goud (54 not out), Hyderabad took a commanding 178-run lead against Tripura on the second day of the four-day under-19 Elite Group D Cooch Behar match in New Delhi on Tuesday.

After restricting Tripura to 143 in the first day, Hyderabad batters dominated the second day. Resuming at 89/3, overnight batters Sarthak and Rishikesh added 158 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter departed after his 180-ball essay that included four boundaries. Sarthak departed soon after for his 166-run knock which had eight boundaries. Dheeraj Goud and Murugan Abhishek (37) added 70 runs for the sixth wicket to put Hyderabad in strong position.

Hyderabad lost Abhishek and YS Varun towards the end of the day but Dheeraj and Rishith Reddy (9 not out) played out the day without further damage.
