Jayashankar Bhupalpally: A police officer on patrol duty was killed and two other private employees were injured critically when their police vehicle rammed into a truck near Gandhinagar on the National Highway on Sunday.
While the accident took place early in the morning on Sunday, the police officer Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police succumbed to the injuries at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday. The other two injured were also rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment and their condition is stated to be critical.
Police said the ASI B Harilal, aged around 54 years, was working at Regonda police station. He, along with police check-post employee Mohd Omar and jeep driver Ashok, was on patrol duty. Their jeep rammed into a truck as there was low visibility due to fog, around 4 am ASI Harilal was, a native of Nallabelli in the district, but was living at Shiva Nagar in Warangal city.
