Kothagudem: Police distributed blankets to tribal families living at Mulakanapalli village in Dummugudem mandal in the district on Wednesday.
At a programme organised by Dummugudem police, Bhadrachalam ASP, Akshansh Yadav, along with CI, Venkateshwarlu handed over blankets to around 90 families at the Gothikoya habitation located on the Chhattisgarh border.
Speaking on the occasion, ASP said that the main objective of the police was to ensure the welfare of the tribals in the agency areas. Blankets were distributed to help tribals protect themselves from the winter cold.
Steps would be taken to address the problems of the Adivasis in consultation with the Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt, he said. CRPF 141 Battalion personnel were also present.
