Peddapalli: Vexed over alleged harassment by officials, a lorry owner Anil Goud staged a protest in front of the Peddapalli RTA office against officials.
Anil Goud, who staged the protest by climbing on top of his lorry, threatened to touch the live electric wires passing over the spot. He alleged that RTA officials were collecting Rs.8000 as bribe from each lorry and registering cases if the bribe was not paid by the owners.
Officials had registered cases on four of his lorries. However, they were not taking any action on lorries owned by big lorry contractors though they were operating and carrying overloads.
A native of Basanthnagar, Anil Goud, had engaged his vehicles for fly ash transportation. Knowing about the incident, police rushed to the spot and convinced Anil Goud to get down from the vehicle.
