Guntur: Police are investigating into the incident of attack on a couple in Seethanagaram of Tadepalli area, Guntur urban SP Arif Hafeez said here on Sunday.

The couple was sitting at the Pushkara ghat on Saturday night when two persons attacked them. They tied the youth and launched a sexual attack on the girl. Special police teams were set up to probe the incident, he said, and exuded confidence that the culprits would be nabbed soon.


Meanwhile, State Women’s Commission chairperson Vasireddi Padma expressed regret over the incident. She said she had talked to the police who suspected the involvement of the `ganja and blade batch’ and had launched a manhunt.
