Warangal: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police led by L Ramesh Kumar along with Mamnoor police arrested a couple and a minor boy for allegedly robbing youngsters and seized Rs 58,000 cash, a two-wheeler and a cell phone from them on Friday. The arrested were identified as Rayapuram Saritha of Parvathagiri village of Warangal district, her husband Renikuntla Rajesh alias Gunnu of Kadipikonda of Hanamkonda district and a minor boy.

Disclosing details of the arrest here, Warangal police commissioner Tarun Joshi said Saritha used to work as a sex worker besides selling movie tickets in the black market. “She was married to Rajesh. But to earn easy money to meet their expenditure on liquor and other things, they came up with a plan. They used to target young males who are alone and Saritha would entice them to a secluded place to have sex. Once they are in a secluded place, she would call her husband. The couple along with a minor boy would then threaten the youngster to part cash, gold or whatever valuables in his possession, and flee from the scene,” Dr Joshi said, adding that one victim was taken to Gunturpally village near Warangal on September 19 and robbed of Rs 70,000 cash.

The couple was earlier arrested in connection with other cases in 2018 and sent to jail. But after release from jail, they allegedly resumed their ‘old profession’, according to the police. The CCS police arrested them at the Timmapur crossroad on Friday.
