Tarun Joshi, a 2004-batch IPS officer, has taken charge as Police Commissioner. He outlined priorities including law and order, infrastructure, recruitment, tackling drug abuse, cybercrime, and traffic management, with emphasis on technology-driven and citizen-friendly policing.

The Telangana government has reshuffled seven IPS officers, appointing B. Sumathi as the new Malkajgiri Police Commissioner and Tarun Joshi as the Commissioner of Cyberabad.
