A selection of practices, activities and trends in which the coronavirus pandemic has fundamentally transformed our lives.
Smarter ventilation, sanitation: Adequate ventilation in indoor spaces to reduce the spread of coronavirus. Intensive and regular sanitising and handwashing are highly recommended.
Avoid mass gatherings: Many people continue to “stay in the bubble” and keep away from large gatherings. Physical distancing rules continue to apply.
Work from home: Work from home (for those who can do their jobs from home), tele / videoconferencing continue for the foreseeable future. Employees are being asked to respect distancing rules.
Wear a mask: Many countries impose or recommend using a mask when leaving the house, in public places (indoors or outdoors) / transportation, etc
Travel and commuting: International / long distance travels only for exceptional reasons. Many now opt to walk, use scooters, bicycles or cars instead of public transport for work or short travels.
E-commerce boom: Digital commerce is on an upswing, as more stores and
restaurants offer “no-contact” delivery services. Increased use of digital media / apps / video services.
Esports and empty stadiums: Cancelled/postponed events have resumed, some “reinvented” into new formats. Esports and video-on-demand are popular. Some stadiums back to limited or full capacity.
Online / distance learning: Many schools use online tools for distance education, which remains difficult for people with no or limited access to internet / digital tools. More
people adopt home schooling.
Boosting immune system: Maintaining a healthy diet, regular exercise and rest to boost immune system / mental health are a priority for many. Home gyms and online tutorial exercises are popular
