Siddipet: Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao, who made a surprise visit to Government Hospital Gajwel and Covid-19 ward at the hospital on Wednesday, has said that they were conducting Covid-19 tests even at ANM Sub-centres across the State to trace the cases as early as possible.
Talking to reporters after his surprise visit to the hospital, the Health Minister said that the State government is geared up to tackle the third wave of Covid-19. Saying that they have kept ready two crore testing kits and one crore home isolation kits, Rao said that they have connected Oxygen supply to all the Covid-19 beds at hospitals in the State. Asking the citizens to go for a test only if they developed symptoms, he said they would normally recover with an isolation kit. The Health Minister sensitised the citizens not to delay visiting the hospital if their condition turned worse. He further said that they had intensive care unit facilities at all the government hospitals across the State to treat the Covid-19 positive patients. He said he was satisfied by the facilities and treatment being provided to Covid-19 patients in the government hospital. The Health Minister also spoke to the Covid-19 patients and people who visited for the tests.
Earlier, Rao has visited the children’s hospital at Gajwel hospital. After talking to staff and inpatients, the Health Minister has said that the hospital was performing a record 400 deliveries every month. Attributing the increase in the deliveries at government hospitals to improved facilities and KCR Kits, Rao said that the number of deliveries increased by 22 per cent in government hospitals since Telangana was created. Zilla Parishad Chairperson V Roja Sharma, MLC Dr V Yadava Reddy, Forest Development Corporation Chairman Vanteru Prathap Reddy and others were present. The Minister has inaugurated ICICI bank branch in Gajwel town on Wednesday morning.
