Covid Vaccination: 21,477 get their first dose in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A total of 21,477 persons were administered the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination while 732 persons took the second dose in Telangana on Friday.
In the bulletin issued on Saturday, the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare said those who received the first dose of vaccination on Thursday included 11,902 persons above 60 years of age, 7,621 in the age group of 45 to 59 years with co-morbidities, 1,126 healthcare workers and 828 frontline workers. The second dose was administered to 504 frontline workers and 228 healthcare workers.
So far, since the launch of Covid vaccination drive in the State, 6,79,928 individuals including healthcare and frontline workers, senior citizens and those in the age group of 45 to 59 years with comorbidities, have received the first dose while the second dose was taken by 2,17,759 healthcare and frontline workers.
Vaccine Wastage
Meanwhile, the bulletin pointed out that the vaccine wastage was just 0.62 per cent. The doses issued as per eVIN portal were 9,58,280 with 40,540 doses issued to armed forces and 14,420 buffer doses with CVCs for advance scheduling. Thus, the net vaccine consumed was 9,03,320 and the doses administered as per https://dashboard.cowin.gov.in/ were 8,97,687 with a vaccine wastage of 0.62 per cent, the bulletin added.
