Khammam: Several Covid warriors and social workers were felicitated in honour of their services during the Covid lockdown. A social activist and Congress leader, Chote Baba felicitated covid warrior and para-legal volunteer Annam Srinivas Rao and others at a programme here on Thursday, said a press release from him here on Friday.
Baba said the felicitation programme was organised as a mark of respect towards the Covid warriors and social workers, who made great contributions to help the victims of Covid and those who suffered due to the lockdown. Para-legal volunteer Srinivas Rao, who performed last rites of hundreds of persons who died of Covid and was taking care of a huge number of orphans, has stood as an inspiration for the young generation, he said.
A scribe, M Papa Rao, social workers Nazeer Ahmed, Khadir, Azeez, Toufiq, Ranjith Chowdary and Sameer of Khammam, Ayesha of Sathupalli and Shaik Saleem of Yellandu were among those felicitated. Sharing their views the social workers said the services they were doing meant to reach the unreached while Srinivas Rao called upon the society members to do their part to serve the needy.
