Suryapet: CPI (M) district secretary Mallu Nagarjuna Reddy on Tuesday termed the Rythu Bharosa yatra of BJP state president Bandi Sanjay as “Rythu bakshaka yatra”, which was aimed at misguiding the farmers. Speaking at a media conference, Nagarjuna said that the new farm laws brought by the Centre have posed a challenge to the survival of the farmers in the country. He strongly criticized Sanjay for visiting the IKP paddy procurement centers as their party government at the centre has decided to not to procure paddy from the farmers for the yasangi crop season.

He urged the Centre to purchase the entire paddy produced by the farmers in all seasons through Food Corporation of India (FCI). He wanted Narendra Modi government to immediately withdraw new farm laws. He questioned as to whether Sanjay was blind to the incidents of deaths of farmers at paddy procurement centers by staying there weeks of time for sale of their crop. He alleged that both BJP and TRS have been enacting a ‘blame game’ on paddy procurement. He held the Centre and state government equally responsible for delay in procurement of paddy from the farmers in this crop season. The members of BJP and TRS were behaving like street rowdies by clashing at the IKP centers, he regretted.
