Sangareddy: CPI(M) workers staged a protest at the Sangareddy Collectorate on Thursday, demanding that the government provide basic infrastructure facilities in schools and recruit teachers and other staff. They alleged that the government had failed to provide textbooks and uniforms to students even till now.

Speaking on the occasion, party district secretary Gollapally Jayaraju also demanded that the government take stern action against the managements of private schools for increasing tuition fees indiscriminately. Stating that party leaders had visited several government schools across the district to assess the situation, Jayaraju said many issues were affecting the schools. He demanded that the government increase budget allocation to the education sector to 10 per cent.

Later, CPI(M) leaders submitted a representation to Administrative Officer at the Collectorate R Vijayalakshmi.
