We extend all support to the affected families in Lagacherla. If the Congress government prevents us from speaking to the families, then it will be made a State issue,” CPM State Secretary T Veerabhadram said here on Monday.
Hyderabad: Condemning the undemocratic practices being adopted by the State government to acquire land rightfully owned by farmers, the CPM State unit has decided to visit Lagacherla on Thursday and speak to the affected families in the village.
“We extend all support to the affected families in Lagacherla. If the Congress government prevents us from speaking to the families, then it will be made a State issue,” CPM State Secretary T Veerabhadram said here on Monday.
Addressing media persons, the CPM leader said unrest was prevailing in Lagacherla and neighbourbing villages. People were restricted from going to their own homes and villages were being changed as jails. Internet was disconnected, he pointed out.
Considering the stiff opposition from farmers and villagers over land acquisition, the State government should conduct an all-party meeting, he suggested.
