Hyderabad: The crematorium near Road No 13 in Banjara Hills will be developed with Rs 1.5 crore. According to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials, the crematorium will be developed on the lines of the Vaikunta Mahaprasthanam, the model crematorium in Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills.
“On the instructions of Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MAUD) Minister KT Rama Rao, issues pertaining to crematoriums and graveyards in the city are also being focused upon. Mayor G Vijayalaxmi’s visit to the crematorium in Banjara Hills is part of the exercise,” according to a statement issued by the Mayor’s office.
The Mayor was accompanied by GHMC zonal commissioner (Khairatabad) P Pravinya. The crematorium in Bojagutta was also inspected by the Mayor.
