CSC operator arrested for attempting to alter age of Aadhaar card holder in Adilabad
A Common Services Centre operator was arrested in Adilabad for allegedly attempting to alter the age of an Aadhaar card holder using fake certificates in exchange for money. In a separate incident, a journalist was arrested for allegedly extorting a jowar trader.

Adilabad: An operator of a Common Services Centre (CSC) was arrested on charges of illegally attempting to alter the age of an Aadhaar card holder in Mavala on Thursday. A computer was seized from the centre.
Police said Battu Venkatesh from Balajinagar was apprehended for attempting to alter the age of a card holder using fake certificates after allegedly accepting Rs 2,000 from a woman for the job. He was found to have agreed to change the age of a girl from 16 to 22 after being approached by the woman. A case was registered against him and an investigation was taken up.
Meanwhile, a scribe was arrested for allegedly threatening and extorting Rs 40,000 from a jowar trader at Gudihathnoor mandal headquarters. Police said Chatla Dasharath Reddy, who works with a vernacular newspaper, was taken into custody for allegedly threatening the trader, citing a lack of permission to trade in the grain.
