Hyderabad: The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) programme continues to dominate the engineering admissions seats matrix, with 26,150 out of 76,795 total seats allocated to the branch, making it largest among all other engineering branches for the academic year 2025-26.

As per the information released by the Technical Education Department on Sunday, at 12,495, the second-highest number of seats is available in the CSE (AI and ML) branch. The CSE AI & ML branch is followed by ECE and CSE Data Science disciplines, which have 10,125 and 6,996 seats, respectively.

For the academic year 2025-26, a total of 76,795 undergraduate engineering seats under convener quota in 171 colleges are up for grabs via the TG EAPCET 2025 web counselling. Of the total, 5,808 seats are available in 21 university colleges.

According to officials, the number of colleges participating in the web counselling has come down from 175 last year to 171 now as a couple of private engineering colleges have shut down and others received deemed university status.

Meanwhile, after much delay, the web options have been made available for students around 6.30 pm as against the scheduled time of 10 am on Sunday. Candidates can exercise web options up to July 10. A total of 95,654 candidates paid processing fees and booked slots for certificate verification. However, 76,494 candidates took part in certificate verification.
