The Telangana government has increased the total number of engineering seats for the 2025–26 academic year by 9,433, raising the total count to 116,877. A significant portion of this increase 72 is in Computer Science and allied programmes.
As per the information released by the Technical Education Department on Sunday, at 12,495, the second-highest number of seats is available in the CSE (AI and ML) branch
The issue is with fee revision for private engineering colleges. The State government reportedly decided to continue the existing fee structure for the academic year 2025-26.
This jump in admissions is mainly due to the launching of courses like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Robotics, Internet of Things, Data Science
