Hyderabad: The Government of India has facilitated the rescue and repatriation of 540 Indian nationals including 24 from Telangana, who were trapped in cyber scam compounds at Myawaddy in Myanmar.

The individuals were released and brought back to Delhi and reached Hyderabad on March 11 and 12.

Following this development, Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has launched a thorough investigation, leading to the registration of 9 cases from 10 victims at different Cyber Crime Police Stations (CCPS) across Telangana.

As part of the crackdown, 15 agents and mediators involved in the scam were identified. Of them, 8 have been arrested and remaining are absconding. Efforts are underway to track and take necessary action against them.
