Hyderabad: Cyber fraudsters cheated a retired school teacher from the city to the tune of Rs 5.5 lakh in the guise of providing loans at lower interest rate.
The 57-year-old complainant was searching for a personal loan online when she came across an individual who introduced himself as a bank executive. He promised to provide her a loan of Rs 15 lakh.
Later, the fraudster frequently demanded money under various pretexts to facilitate the loan approval process. Trusting him, the victim deposited a total of Rs 5.5 lakh into various bank accounts.
Despite making these payments, the victim did not receive the promised loan amount. One realising being cheated, the victim approached the Hyderabad Cybercrime police are lodged a complaint.
