Cyberabad AHTU registers 103 human trafficking cases in 2025
In 2025, Cyberabad AHTU registered 103 human trafficking cases, rescuing 195 victims and deporting 10 foreign nationals. She Teams handled over 1,000 petitions, child rescue operations saved 2,298 children, and street prostitution enforcement led to 508 arrests.
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) registered 103 cases under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, arresting 257 persons and rescuing 195 victims.
In a notable achievement, police deported 10 foreign nationals involved in prostitution, including citizens of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa and Bangladesh, in coordination with the FRRO authorities.
On the other hand, She Teams received 1,043 petitions, registered 83 cases, booked 2,964 petty cases, and counselled 3,322 persons. Through decoy operations, 3,315 persons were caught red-handed, and one child marriage was averted.
Under ‘Operation Smile-XI’ and ‘Muskaan-XI’, police rescued 2,298 children, including 2,191 boys and 107 girls. Of these, 2,193 children were reunited with parents, while 105 were admitted to Child Care Institutions, with 622 FIRs registered.
A special operation against street prostitution resulted in 121 cases, 508 arrests, 356 persons bound over, and 24 sex workers jailed for violations. Enforcement against overstaying foreigners also saw good results, with 72 deportations in 2025, compared to 27 in 2024.
