Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M. Ramesh has placed under suspension an Armed Reserve (AR) police constable for allegedly making objectionable remarks against a public representative on social media.
The suspended constable, K. Anil, a 2018-batch Armed Reserve officer, was serving at the Hyderabad CAR Headquarters on “order to serve” from the Cyberabad CAR.
According to police officials, the matter came to their notice after Anil allegedly posted objectionable comments targeting a public representative on a social media platform. Taking note of the conduct, the Commissioner ordered disciplinary action against him under the applicable service rules.
Dr M. Ramesh stressed that every member of the police force is expected to maintain discipline, professional conduct and a respectful demeanour. Police personnel, he said, must exercise restraint and responsibility while using social media and ensure that their online activities do not bring disrepute to the department.
