Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police, who have intensified the crackdown on drugs, have been conducting raids on a daily basis across the commissionerate.
On the eve of Diwali on Wednesday and later on Thursday as well, four persons were held for drug peddling, with 500 grams of marijuana and one live marijuana plant being seized from them. Officials said 50 e-petty cases were registered during this period.
Bulk buyers, local retailers and drug smugglers are on the police radar in order to curb marijuana peddling and consumption, officials said. So far, eight drug peddlers caught during these raids were detained under the Preventive Detention Act.
The Cyberabad Police requested citizens to pass on information on drug suppliers to the police on Dial 100 or Cyberabad NDPS Enforcement Cell – 79011 05423 or Cyberabad WhatsApp – 9490617444.
