Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said instances of people falling prey to cyber fraudsters had increased with conmen calling up victims over phones
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have warned the public against falling prey to fraudsters who are cheating people on the pretext of high returns on investments in the stock market.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said instances of people falling prey to cyber fraudsters had increased with conmen calling up victims over phones.
“After introducing themselves as executives working for stock trading companies and bitcoin trading firms, they lure people into investing with assurances of high returns. Later, they ask people to transfer huge amounts for investment in the stock market and dupe them,” he said.
The police said fraudsters were introducing themselves through emails, text messages and direct phone calls.
“No company will give huge profits. People should not fall prey to such gimmicks by fraudsters. Any information regarding such soliciting calls can be passed on the police,” the Commissioner urged.
