Cyberabad Municipal Corporation removes over 50 encroachments

Cyberabad Municipal Corporation removed over 50 footpath encroachments in Manikonda and nearby areas during a special drive conducted with police support. The civic body also carried out a sanitation drive in Narsingi Circle, lifting large quantities of garbage and waste.

Hyderabad: In a special drive against footpath encroachments, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) authorities removed over 50 encroachments in Manikonda and other parts of the civic body on Saturday.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) had already started a special drive and now CMC has also taken up the special drive on footpath encroachments. Amid police force, the drive was continued in three civic bodies.


Meanwhile, CMC launched a mega sanitation drive for a 10-km stretch in Narsingi Circle, Serilingampally Zone. A press release said the stretches covered include Team 4 Building to Bhagya Laxmi Temple via Marrichettu & Prasad Hospital, Trials Villas to Yellamma Temple, Friends Colony to Alanati Hotel via Prerana Hospital, Prerana Hospital to Old Andhra Bank via Gowtham Model School, Golden Temple & First Cry School, Pratibha School to Butterfly Junction and Wings of Wonder School (KGN) to Alkapoor Road No 30 via Yoga Circle.

A total of 15 metric tons of garbage was lifted during the sanitation drive. Simultaneously, 150 metric tons of construction and demolition waste, another 1.7 metric tons of green waste, and 7 metric tons of silt were removed, it said.

A total of 40 officials and 313 sanitation workers were deployed, and 47 vehicles, including tippers, tractors, earth movers, were used to transport garbage and other material.
