Hyderabad: Post recent trifurcation, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation left behind the other two civic bodies of GHMC and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation in property tax collection in the financial year 2025-26.

Following the closure of the property tax collection window on March 31, the three civic bodies together received a total of Rs 2,501.25 crore. Of this, the CMC garnered Rs 986.03 crore in property tax revenue, while the GHMC received Rs 962.82 crore, with Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) left at third position with Rs 552.4 crore.

Officials said the Cyberabad civic body, with its jurisdiction covering several MNCs and scores of housing projects, became the richest body in tax collection this year.

During the trifurcation, two key zones, Serilingampally and Kukatpally, were transferred to the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation. Earlier, these two civic bodies played a key role in the erstwhile GHMC in boosting the property tax collections. For instance, during 2024-25, Serilingampally received Rs 448 crore, and Kukatpally received Rs 331 crore in property tax collections, said the officials.

GHMC leads in ‘One-Time Scheme’ (OTS) collection

Meanwhile, the three civic bodies received Rs 548 crore under the One-Time Scheme (OTS) for the financial year 2025-26, with the GHMC securing the top position with Rs 233 crore. The CMC got second position with Rs 189 crore, while the MMC received Rs 126 crore.
