Cyberabad police catch 431 drunken driving offenders in weekend checks

Cyberabad police booked 431 drunken driving offenders during weekend checks, including two-wheeler, auto, car and heavy vehicle drivers. Eleven recorded extremely high BAC levels. Chevella topped the list with 49 cases. Courts sentenced 21 offenders to jail and fined several others.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police during weekend drunken driving checking caught 431 persons on Saturday night.

Among those caught are 325 – two wheeler riders, 16 – three wheeler drivers, 86 – four wheeler drivers and 4 – heavy vehicle drivers. Of the total 11 offenders had BAC level ranging between 301 mg/100 ml to 550 mg/100 ml. All the offenders have to appear before the court.


The highest number – 49 violators were caught by Chevella police, following Shamshabad – 44 and Rajendranagar 43.

Meanwhile, during the last week a total of 320 cases were disposed by the court. The court sentenced 21 persons to jail term and imposed a fine on them, while 35 persons were asked to do social service and also a fine imposed on them. The remaining 264 persons were imposed only fine.
