Cyberabad police reach 4.8 lakh in mega cybercrime awareness drive
In a sweeping campaign under ‘Cyber Jagarookta Divas’, Cyberabad Police sensitised over 4.8 lakh citizens about online investment frauds. The drive spanned educational institutions, parks, residential colonies, and corporate offices, with support from SCSC volunteers.

Hyderabad: As part of ‘Cyber Jagarookta Divas’, the Cyberabad Police conducted a mega cybercrime awareness drive focusing on various types of investment frauds and sensitized over 4.8 lakh citizens across the commissionerate on Thursday.
The initiative involved 240 police personnel and 20 corporate volunteers from SCSC. Awareness sessions were held in 41 educational institutions, 18 parks, five residential communities, and four corporate offices.
The drive also included collaboration with Hyderabad Metro Rail, reaching over one lakh commuters, and special sessions for high-risk groups.
Cyber safety drive engages 350 students at Gachibowli school
The Gachibowli police organised a cyber safety awareness programme at Telangana Social Welfare Residential School, Gowlidoddi, on “Cyber Jagrookta Diwas,” on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, DCP Madhapur Ritiraj emphasised the importance of being vigilant in the digital world and explained how cybercriminals use various methods to defraud innocent people online.
She explained to students on key precautionary measures such as not sharing personal or financial information like account numbers, card details, and OTPs.
The awareness programme was aimed at sensitizing students about the growing cyber threats and equipping them with the knowledge to stay safe in the digital space. Around 350 students and staff participated in the event.
