Cyberabad police recover over 1,200 lost, stolen phones worth Rs 2.43 crore

Cyberabad Police recovered 1,218 lost and stolen mobile phones worth Rs 2.43 crore during the 11th phase of their CEIR-based drive. Phones were traced by three CCS units and returned to owners, while the commissioner urged citizens to report missing devices.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police recovered 1,218 lost and stolen mobile phones worth Rs 2.43 crore in the 11th phase of their CEIR-based recovery drive.

According to officials, of the total, about 410 phones were traced by CCS Kukatpally, a total of 407 mobiles by CCS Serilingampally and 401 mobiles by CCS Quthbullapur and handed over to their owners.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner M Ramesh said police were using technology to trace missing phones and urged victims to immediately register complaints through the CEIR portal.

Several beneficiaries expressed happiness after recovering their devices.

The commissioner also cautioned citizens against cyber frauds, including job scams and betting apps.

He further advised them to safeguard their belongings in crowded places and avoid sharing travel plans on social media.
